Stage

A great passion of mine is stage photography, I love the theatre, so a career highlight was to be invited to a photocall at Covent Garden to photograph the legendary Rudolph Nurieyev and Lynn Seymour dancing in La Batadare and Laborintus. This was way back in the early 70s so to get the speed of emulsion required I shot in high speed monochrome, I think the grain adds to the impact of the images.

Floral

Floral

Every one loves flowers, and I am no exception. I also enjoy growing them to put in front of my camera. A good number of the less exotic blooms shown in this portfolio were pot grown by me for photography. I have a very small garden mostly laid to paving so pots are the answer to get the maximum planting for my shots, they also look good, and can be moved around the garden for visual impact.

These images, of one of the words most exciting cities were taken during a very recent visit, organised, as a surprise trip by my daughter. A delightful surprise and a great visit. Once again I was blessed with the wonderful light that is typical of that part of the world, and it inspires me to record the beauty and sadness of this unique place.

The softness of the English landscape has dictated my approach to photography. The delicate light, the rain and mists, all have played a part in moulding me as an artist. Some of the work displayed on this website represents part of that early moulding, the rest has not so much been moulded, as computer generated.
